Pines have been at the forefront of high performance indoor Volleyball in New Zealand having held the National title in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2022. In addition to the Pines team our Sapling's Mens Development team play in the second division and have placed respectively over the recent years. In 2017 the club proudly established a Pines Womens team.
Over 30+ affiliated clubs take part in three Zone qualification leagues/events during June to September, culminating in the Volleyball New Zealand National Club Championships in October. Each of the zones are made up of VNZ affiliated Regional Association, with each Zone guaranteed two positions per gender in Division One of the Club Championships.
PINES MEN
Established in 2009, the Pines Mens team are at the pinnacle of high performance volleyball in New Zealand. The Pines Nelson Mens team will compete in the Southern Zone Qualification for the National Club Championships, which will consist of 4 weekends of volleyball between July and September. The Pines Wellington team will compete in the Central Zone Qualification for the National Club Championships. The teams will then head to Tauranga in October to compete in the National Club Championships.
PINES WOMEN
Established in 2017, the Pines Womens team present an exciting opportunity to foster the growth of womens volleyball in the Nelson region. The Pines Womens team will compete in the Southern Zone Qualification for the National Club Championships, which will consist of 4 weekends of volleyball between July and September. The team will then head to Tauranga in October to compete in the National Club Championships.
